The last three
By the time Aiden was back at the airport to pick up the last of the three girls, he was ready to retire. “This is quite endless, isn’t it James? And I still haven’t addressed the other issue. This is endless indeed.”
James nodded. The two went a long way back, all the way back to Tokyo. A chance encounter, a spot of violence, and James became Aiden’s shadow. A shadow quite literally no one knew about. It didn’t take much for Aiden to get James to move to TGC. He needed his people. People he could trust. People who got the job done. “You got this, sir,” James replied, taking a quick glance at Aiden’s face in the rear view mirror.
The airport had been busy. As Aiden looked through the burgeoning crowd of travellers, he held up the TGC sign in his hands. He was expecting the Lilyknight twins from London and Nin the beautiful Javanese dancer. Once he had them, he was free. Or so he thought.
First to arrive was Nin. Aiden smiled as she walked up towards him slowly, her gait so lithe that she could very well start dancing right there in the middle of the sea of people. She waved at him, her TGC card tucked between her fingers. Aiden nodded at her. “Welcome home, Ms Bikcin. We’ll just wait for the twins, if that’s alright.”
Nin: I think I saw them. They should be here soon.
Aiden: Excellent. And how was your flight? Nothing went wrong, did it?
Nin: Oh it was tres comfortable, thank you. You do know how to spoil a woman, Mr Recruiter.
Aiden smiled. “Just doing the job, Ms Bikcin.”
The twins appeared out of nowhere. They were stunning, with their piercing blue eyes and long blond hair. “Uh oh,” Aiden had a feeling that these two were going to be trouble. And it was difficult as hell to tell them apart. As they approached him, their musical voices almost chimed in together. “Hiiii!”
Aiden: Hello Delilah and Danielle. Meet Nin. She will be travelling with us to the estate.
Delilah: Oh call me Del, and she’s Danie. Hi Nin! We are sooo excited!
Danie: That’s right. We saw you earlier near the luggage belts and I said to Del how pretty you looked… I LOVE YOUR HAIR!
Even if Nin was a little taken aback, it did not show. “Hi girls. Pleasure to meet you.”
Aiden helped with their luggage, guiding them towards the exit of the airport. “Right this way, ladies. I know everyone’s a bit tired, but as soon as we get to the estate, you’ll have ample chance to rest. And of course meet the others.”
The three followed, the twins were constantly whispering among each other. Nin was relatively quiet, but Aiden had a feeling that she was just measuring everything. “A woman of detail,” he thought to himself.
James was waiting outside the car in the parking lot and rushed to help Aiden. “Thanks mate. Let’s get on with it,” Aiden said, almost sinking into the comfortable seat of the limo once the girls were piled in. “The estate, James,” his voice was tired. A nod from James, and the limo was set on its course. Watching the girls soak in the moment, enjoying some bubbly in the car, chatting among each other, Aiden almost forgot. He picked up his phone and sent a single text, “All done.”
