Let’s make a deal

With a sudden startling ring, Aiden's phone went off. It was Damon. He had found the key link in Bella’s case. He was a shorter man, dark skin. He seemed dishonest yet sharp. Careful with his words. Damon had all but threatened his life after finding him in a pub downtown jade City.

Aiden: I’ll be right there. Nin just finished her performance.

The line cut shortly after as Aiden excused himself to the back of the club. It was a cold evening. His steps hurried as he had been waiting for this meeting since the case presented itself.

Finally he came around the corner, finding Damon and this mysterious man standing near the tunnel as expected. They were silent. There was an obvious tension as Aiden finally approached. Damon stood quiet only signaling Aiden with the lift of his hand.

Damon: You wanted scum you got it.

Man: Now wait a minute…

Damon: What? My mistake. Family man. House, dog… white picket fence and a clean slate right? Stfu and tell him what you told me unless you want to spend the rest of your life in prison for whatever I say you did.

Man: I hate dirty cops.

Damon: And I love dirty scumbags in orange jumpsuits.

The man began to recap his involvement in Bella’s tax evasion situation. He seemed startled at Damon’s threat yet remained composed. As though there was more.

Aiden: I see. Here’s what’s going to happen. Bella stays here and you give me every falsified document you have on her and get the fuck off our property. Should you tell a soul about this meeting or discuss Bella in any fashion outside of here,... well… you don’t want to know.

The man stood there appearing pale. He nodded, picking up his phone, and instructed someone on the other end to prepare some documents from his safe. As the man began to walk away looking back, between Aiden and Damon, only saying, ”You will have it by 5pm.”

Damon: Music to my ears.

Aiden smirked and nodded, letting the man get off the property quietly.
